Happiness and Misery

Our past works as a lens through which we perceive the present. Where do we come from? Where are we standing? Each person has a personal history that is diluted when it gathers in a group which is classified by abstract categories. That’s how nations, states, unions are created. A small oneiric girl and an old and tired mascot invite us into a parable of contrasts and contradictions of a citizen’s life. The appearance of freedom gives place to the impossibility of communication where words said are never to be done and actions taking place need to be hidden. When everything goes wrong the idea of a better place, the promised land, is sold to us over and over again. Happiness & Misery proposes an experience where the audience can live the great illusion of participative democracy.
